An der Lancaster University hat sich über einen längeren Zeitraum eine hohe Forschungsexpertise zur Textanalyse von Geschäftsberichten und anderen Elementen der Unternehmenskommunikation aufgebaut. Dr. El-Haj wird von den erlangten Erfahrungen berichten und im Anschluss ein Tutorial zu einigen für diese Zwecke entwickelten Textanalysetools anbieten. Im Tutorial wird die Möglichkeit bestehen alle besprochenen Inhalte am eigenen Laptop nachzuverfolgen. Bei Interesse bitte einen eigenen Laptop mitbringen, es wird eine funktionierende WLan-Verbindung benötigt.

 

Um ein breites Publikum am Fachbereich Wirtschaftswissenschaften zu erreichen, findet die Veranstaltung in Nürnberg, Lange Gasse 20 statt. Dr. El-Haj will provide a hands-on tutorial with live demos on the tools/software developed and used in projects at Lancaster University (login details will be provided):

a) Corporate Financial Information Environment (CFIE) -Final Report Structure Extractor (FRSE) is a desktop and a web application to detect the structure and extract narratives from UK Financial Reports.

b) WMatrix is a software tool for corpus analysis and comparison. It provides a web interface to the English USAS and CLAWS corpus annotation tools, and standard corpus linguistic methodologies such as frequency lists and concordances. It also extends the keywords method to key grammatical categories and key semantic domains.
